This deep v-neck crop top does wonders for my height! V-necklines are more elongating than crew necks, so it’s helping a short-sistah out right there. But then the cropped length does this magical thing that I can’t quite explain (is it drawing the eye upward? Tricking you into thinking my torso is longer?). Somehow, it makes it possible to wear a long jacket and slouchy boyfriend jeans together in one outfit…normally something I would avoid for fear of combining their shortening powers together into one massively stumpifying look. It also adds interest to an outfit that without it, just looked “meh”. I’m mentally compiling my list of Wardrobe Workhorses for the year and I’m thinking this deep v-neck crop top may just make the list.

Thank you Kristie!
I love wearing V-necklines as I find them definitely very flattering for a petite frame! Like how you layered a V-neck crop top over a shirt, very chic effect!

Thank you Prudence! =)
Nice outfit and sleight of hand! I believe this v-neck crop top works well with the long, slouchy jacket and boyfriend jeans because the crop length places your waist higher, making your legs longer. The v-neck, combined with the white undershirt, focuses attention high up. Together the two tops continue the illusion of a higher waist begun by the crop top’s short hem. I think the low key coloring of your bottom half elements are important. I don’t think this outfit would work as well with a very light or bright bottom.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful insights! Interesting point about the lightly colored bottoms! =)
