Before going out to dinner with friends last weekend, I arrived in SF a little early to make returns at the mall and look around. After weaving in and out of a few women’s clothing stores being largely left alone or ignored by the staff, Mr. AN and I walked into a menswear store where I was immediately chatted up. One SA complimented my outfit, then joked around for a bit about how we matched, and another engaged me in a conversation about loafers. Apparently I have found my people…they work in menswear stores. =P
Now, can I tell you how obsessed I am with these loafers? I love the narrow, clean profile (e.g. not clunky which can make petites look stumpy), glazed leather, and unique, metallic tipped tassels. Dressier than a penny loafer, but not quite a full-fledged tasseled loafer, this is exactly the menswear inspired shoe I’ve been looking for. And the best part…they come in down to a size 4.5 (the size I’m wearing). If your size is sold out at the first retailer I liked to, they are also available here.

Thanks Liv, me too! =)
The loafers does look very sleek and classy without appearing too formal! Love the burgundy color for Fall too!

Thanks Prudence! =)
Love the black and burgundy. That blazer looks so good!
Thank you!! =)
Those loafers are awesome! First, how can you not love burgundy, patent leather? Second, I love the feminine, loafer look. I usually have to wear the heeled ones, but I would love to find a flat pair that doesn’t make my feet look huge. :)
Thanks Merrie! I feel ya, I have a really hard time finding flats that don’t a) make my feet look like boats, and b) make me look shorter than I already do. These work really well on me and I’m obsessed!
Woohoo! Glad you found your dream loafers. I’ve been eyeing up some smoking slippers myself and just found out the Charlotte Olympia Kitty flat comes in kids’ sizing on her website! May have to check those out in person soon. Your menswear inspo is rubbing off in good ways! ;)
They come in KIDS SIZES??? Whaaa? You just blew my mind. That’s so awesome!
Wow, wow :) Lovely colour in your lofers. I have the same problem: how to wear lower heals without feet looking so big. Well, these kind of shoes are nice for a change anyway:) that little envelope handbag is pretty. <3
Ahh I really like these loafers as well: I was even ready to make the splurge and order from France… but no size 4.5 left in either colour.
Pity but might be better for my wallet! Could not find these exact shoes in Europe.
Hi Eveange66! I know! I’m so sad they sold out in 34.5 so fast! They are still available in 34.5 in navy, but the burgundy and black are so much more versatile I think. The link to the navy ones are here if you’re interested: http://altsneed.co/1iUZZL7
Hi Eveange66! Not to tempt you, but wanted to let you know size 4.5 is available in black (and they ship to Europe) here: http://altsneed.co/1POksza
Just found your blog – love it! And love these loafers; just found them in a gorgeous navy at Anthropologie … for a great price. Preppy with an edge – just my style!
