This post goes out to like-sized readers who may find themselves in need of a new coat this season. The other weekend, I spent a nice day in San Francisco with Mr. AN, and on a whim, wandered into All Saints. I usually equate All Saints with leather jackets, so after admiring a few smooshy, zippered beauties, I happened upon this long coat and literally freaked out.
It’s called the Lorie coat, and is a near perfect fit off the rack in size US 0/UK 4. If I were to alter anything on this coat, it would merely be to shorten the sleeves by maybe 1/2 an inch…it’s that near perfect (I pushed the sleeves up a little in these photos because I liked the pop of gingham at the cuff, so excuse the fabric ripples. It actually falls much smoother in real life). My first thought when trying it on in the mirror was how remarkably similar it fits to this coat that I had completely tailored down.
A sales associate was quick to join in on my “oh my god it fits” freak out (I must have looked like I was desperate to find someone, anyone, to swipe my credit card…now!) and the mixed look of horror and pity on his face when I told him how much I had done to have a Zara coat tailored down to fit was priceless.
The coat I snagged has a dramatic haircalf stand collar (*sigh* I love!) which appears to have already sold out online (called “Onix Pony” if you want to call stores to track one down), but this fit also comes in black, mixed plaid (the other one I’ve got my eye on), camel, and a transitional fabric black, all with leather stand collars.
