Black, White and Windowpane

One thing I love to do is layer a middle-buttoned cardigan under a blazer, jacket or coat. It’s a play off my x-principle, where a distinct waist is created at the center of an “x”, and is my casual take on a three-piece suit. I also feel like it adds a nice bit of depth to an outfit.

Since I don’t care much for florals, I enjoy when simple, geometric prints come on trend. I’m slowly adding stripes, dots, and checks to my closet, with the latest iteration of the latter being the windowpane print. The size and color of this print is perfect on this Ann Taylor cardigan. I also appreciate how care has been taken to make sure the print lines up along the button placket and shoulder.
