It’s fall! It’s fall! Okay, not quite yet, but fall clothing is finally in stores and I couldn’t be happier. There are only so many straight days of cut-offs a girl can stand! I’m always a big fan of classic items with unique details, so when Ann Taylor asked me to pick some items from the new fall collection to play with, I honed right in on two classics with a twist. One, a crisp white dress shirt with tuxedo-esque pintucks, and two, a fitted stripe tee with faux-leather patches at the elbows. I liked the idea of them paired together…with the dressiness of the office-ready pintucked shirt elevating the weekend-staple stripe tee into something that could go to work (albeit on more casual days – or if you’ve only ever worked at casual workplaces like myself – everyday). Staggering the pushed up sleeves on both lets the tee’s faux-leather details peek out ever so slightly, which is my favorite part. And of course, all these items come in petite. =)

Also…how cool is this patent leather tortoise clutch? The attached chain is long enough to wear crossbody, in yet another way to take something from dressy to casual. How cute would it look crossbody with an oversized stripe shirt and slouchy denim on the weekend?

Thank you to Ann Taylor for sponsoring this post (and letting me play with new fall arrivals)!

I really like the stripe top, but I’m having trouble with the colors. Is it black stripes or blue, and does it match the elbow patches?

    1. Hi Angela! I think there is a tiny hint of blue in the very very dark stripes, which kinda came out in the photos (my camera picks up blue super easy), but to the naked eye they are black and match the black elbow patches. I never even questioned it was black until I was editing the photos and saw the hint of blue. I hope that helps!

Hi Kelly, I know that you own the Kate spade black pump. Would you say they run small or true to size. I am a true 4.5 in shoe size and thinking about getting those pump. They only make their shoes down to 5 don’t they? thank you
