This year, shopping small has taken on more importance and urgency than ever before. With so many beloved small businesses taking the brunt of this year’s financial hardships, it’s important to support them with our dollars when we can. Here are some small businesses I’m shopping this Black Friday weekend, and a few I’m crushing on. Enjoy!

As a California girl, I’m always happy to discover great small businesses doing cool things. Here’s a few I’m into at the moment.
PS…did you know there’s a vibrant jewelry district in Downtown Los Angeles? With a concentration of resources available there for the jewelry industry, there’s a lot of great fine jewelry businesses based in the LA area. I’ve posted a few here.

I’ve been crushing on this LA based rock n’ roll vintage inspired jewelry brand for years. They are a must follow on Instagram (as well as the founder’s, Drew, personal account. This year they are having a small sale which you KNOW I took advantage of. I have the Foxx coming my way.

Ladies can also rock a funky tee from this LA based men’s clothing company, or gift the guys in your life. I love the vibe of these tongue in cheek tees, and the city series. I picked up the Ace Hotel collab for myself (I wear a men’s size medium for an oversized look).

I love a good belt, and this Folsom based company makes some of the best wrap belts around. My personal favorite is the “midi” size wrap belt, which is perfect for petite frames. The “skinny” wrap belt is also great. I personally own the “midi” in black and tan, as well as the “skinny” in black and electric blue. I’m eyeing this studded belt in both black and brown.

This small LA company has infiltrated chic fashion-girl closets everywhere. Anine mixes Scandinavian simplicity with LA rock n’ roll to create elevated edgy pieces that will live in your closet forever. I find her pieces to run a tad generous for that cool slouch factor, so beware of that before you buy.
I just learned the owner of this LA based company is a friend of a friend! Her jewelry is amazing, but what I really love are her brass objects. I’m in love with this “talon” candle holder, and can we talk about these horn bookends? The chopstick rests are so cute!

I don’t know much about this LA based jewelry company but I’m intrigued by their paperclip necklaces. Those are some pretty good prices for solid 14k gold.
