Mixed Neutrals – Grey & Camel

How to wear grey and camel

Shades of camel and beige have always been tough for me to wear, so I don’t have much of them in my wardrobe. Thanks to mixed ethnicities, my skin tone is pale, yellow, and red all at the same time, which has been just super when it comes to matching makeup foundation. It also has a tendency to look sickly when beige colored neutrals are worn near my face, so a grey wardrobe it is, then! Righto.

My aversion to all things beige made me pass on this camel coat for the longest time. But when I saw how cute it looked on Crystalin (a fellow shorty!) and Anh, I decided to give it a go thanks to a good promo at Banana. So, it turns out I can do camel, as long as it’s on the darker and warmer side. Good to know. ;)

I also like how this camel coat brightens up what are normally pretty dark shades of grey. Aided by light wash denim and white bookend accessories, this winter outfit is surprisingly light and bright!

Love your writing style lately – fun to see your sassy personality come out more :) I too ADORE camel (it looks so luxe!) but it’s hard to wear next to my east indian skin. I may try this one out!

Agghh! Kelly you are making me want this blazer after I talked myself because of online reviews about tight fitting arms! It looks great on you! What size are you wearing and is it the regular or petite?

You wear camel well and the mix of neutrals and classic styles here look perfect on you. Your white hat and pumps work every time imo. Regards. Deb
