// Congrats to Evelyn N., the winner of the Tieks giveaway! //
I’ve been obsessed with the idea of layering with longer lengths…the longer the better! Some of my favorite looks these days are when others layer with long shirt dresses and maxi tunics, but as someone really short, I find it difficult to pull off. Yet, I couldn’t shake this pinstripe maxi tunic off my mind and thought it might be the layering piece I’ve been looking for. Hailing from the ASOS petite line, I knew it would at least sorta work, and it appeared to have a nice heavy drape, ideal to avoid looking as if you’re being swallowed up by fabric.
I ended up having it tailored…nothing too major…but I think it helps the way it looks on my petite frame. For now, what’s the easiest way to handle a long tunic you’re not quite sure what to do with yet? Treat it like a shirt! I’m looking forward to playing with more layering possibilities when this heat wave blows through town.
Quick note about this envelope clutch…I’m so in love! I’ve been looking for a medium sized black clutch without much hardware, bells or whistles…something that would go with everything. I’ve been carrying my Chanel shoulder bag as a clutch (it has a detachable shoulder strap, which is handy) but I find its metal hardware a bit distracting at times. This clutch is perfect. Nice size. Simple design, yet still interesting. No hardware. No logos. Just some of the most deliciously smooshy leather around. I think I may also “need” the grey.
PS…still working on that damn farmer tan…

I really like this concept and to see you in flats for a change! Your styling is so complimentary to the tunic and the shorter length in the front is perfect for petites. A really nice summery look Kelly.
Thank you Deb!
Thanks for the style tips.

Thanks Liv!
Loving the chic side slit design of the tunic and tucking the front in to create an asymmetrical look is such a great idea! Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks Amber! My eye goes right to that damn farmer tan! haha! When long layers are done right, it looks so goooood! One of those times I wish I were just a little taller so I could better pull it off. =P
