Holy heat wave, Batman! Last week SoCal saw record breaking temps, and my legs saw…well…the light of day! Not to worry, I’m back in pants today and all is right in the world again. Now on to a subject near and dear to my heart…the blue stripe shirt.
I mentioned back when discussing my wardrobe workhorses that a white striped shirt had become an important go-to wardrobe piece for me. Right behind that on the workhorse ladder would be the blue striped shirt, of which I’m amassing quite the little collection. This one by Marissa Webb is by far my favorite (double-button mitered cuffs, button-down collar, hidden placket and matching tie…a detail lovers dream!), but my others, a traditional dress shirt by Banana Republic and breezy linen by J.Crew are in constant rotation. If the classic white dress shirt is a cool urban sophisticate, then the classic blue striped dress shirt is a down-to-earth girl swigging beers at happy hour. In my head at least.
Expired: PS…anyone who has been interested in the gold Michael Kors watch I have will be happy to see it is on sale at Nordstrom right now.
PPS…Marissa Webb, the brilliant designer behind the shirt I’m wearing, has joined Banana Republic as the new Creative Director! The first collection under her helm will likely be summer of 2015. I’m so excited!!
