Tweed and Lace

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! I spent my Saturday playing personal shopper for a friend who needed some wardrobe updates and had such a fun time helping her pick items and mixing and matching, it reminded me of why I love personal style so much. Clothes have always felt powerful to me,  in both scary and exciting ways depending on the point in my life. To see someone else get excited over the power of clothes and help them see the possibilities of all the fun they can have in them is something that makes me really happy, and a big reason as to why I’ve enjoyed blogging over the past 5+ years. =)

I mentioned in a post last week about how this shirt was sheer at the lace detail, and would need some thoughtful undergarments if modesty is your thing. A pretty decent compromise I found for this shirt is the Zara lace camisole, which adds another layer of lace underneath, while preserving the contrast that makes this sheer lace shoulder detail so cool in the first place. I think a lace nude bra (I think this one from The Little Bra Company would be perfect!) would work just as well, but since I don’t own one at the moment, the cami will do.

Kelly! I’m jealous you were able to snag yourself a pair of those GR leopard pumps! They are absolutely perfect, but sold out in my size :( I’m hoping to at least get my hands on the nude pumps. How is the sizing? Do they fit tight in the heel?

  2. Good luck snagging a pair Cher! They are beautiful and right up there with Manolo BB’s as the perfect point-toe pump.

They run big, pretty similar to Manolo Blahnik BB’s. I was lucky in that a friend who wears the same shoe size as myself has them, so I was able to try them on for sizing and see how they stretch with wear. I got the size 34 (I can wear size 5 in a lot of US brands) and they are very snug, but I know they will be perfect after a few wears. My pair fits very snuggly in the heel and I’m hoping I won’t have to pad them back there for a very long time. For reference, I also take size 34 in Manolo BB’s.
