Hello, everyone! And happy April Fools’ Day! I have to be careful on April 1st because my parents are expert April Foolers, and always seem to get me with a totally believable and perfectly timed prank. I always wake up braced with the mantra, “don’t believe a thing mom and dad say”, but they always seem to catch me off guard! Am I gullible? Forgetful? A little of both, probably.
I meant to get this post up earlier, but a mini weekend vacay (and the resulting laziness) thwarted my efforts. Anyhoo, I wanted to share a recent find that are these Gap “skinny mini” khakis.
I don’t usually have much luck with the fit of Gap items, but every now and then I’m swayed to give something a try. The latest venture were these khakis which come in regular and special sizes, in a slimmer fit than their “broken-in” khakis (which I’ve also tried on several occasions and look just awful on me). Besides this olive “cactus”, I also tried the navy, which fit quite a bit bigger and are being returned. This olive pair, on the other hand, are just slim enough to skim the leg-line, but loose enough for a casual fit. If you find khakis/casual pants to be saggy and unflattering on you, these might be worth a try, at least in the olive color.
I’ll also point out here that I love, love, love this shirt. I’ve had a navy gingham shirt for a few years now and don’t wear it all that often, but once I picked up this one in black gingham during one of those really good J.Crew sale promos (like now (!), 30% off sale items and 50% off final sale items with code SHOPNOW through 4/6), I’ve been wearing it non-stop. If you’re thinking of picking up gingham, get it in black…it’s the way to go for sure. So much more versatile!

I LOVE this outfit Kelly! It’s the perfect stylish but casual cool look!
Noѡ I am ready to do my breakfast, afterward havinǥ my breakfast comiոg yet again to read additional news.
Love this outfit! I used to have a short-sleeved gingham shirt but thought it looked “off” somehow, like a cross between a referee and a 1950’s server on skates. Maybe I’ll have better luck with a long-sleeved version like yours!
Black and white and olive is my favorite color pairings! Those pants do fit nicely on you! Great find! And I agree that black and white gingham is the most versatile and pleasing to the eye compared to other gingham colors.
Ended up trying the olive khakis, but found them to be a little roomy in the rear. The grey ones, however, are perfect! Thanks for the suggestion!
