While an appreciator of leather jackets on others, they can feel a bit unnatural on me. With a wardrobe that’s looking more and more every day like that an old Italian man, leather jackets can feel too edgy for my usually tailored, tweed-sporting self. So when I was given the opportunity to save this leather jacket from a friend’s giveaway pile, I snatched it up as an opportunity to “make it work”. Bonus points: the sleeves are detachable, turning it into a vest. I’ll play with that version later.
After several rounds of outfits and making disapproving faces at the mirror, I tried this shirt and glen plaid vest combo that I had been thinking would look nice under a trench. Finally the leather jacket felt like “me”.
A big but simple statement ring in black can be worn everyday as a signature piece. I don’t switch my jewelry up too often, so I love pieces that go with everything.

Gorgeous look! Loving the leather on you – it definitely is styled in a very “you” way with the tweed vest! I love it!

The jacket looks great on you, Kelly! Looking forward to seeing it as a vest. Also, I’m glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t switch up their jewelry that often. :)

Wow! That jacket looks fantastic on you. I can’t imagine it as a vest (too rocker?) but the jacket rocks.
Haha. You look way better than an “old Italian man.” Can’t wait to see how you dress the sleeveless jacket.
