This vest caught my eye early in the season, but I kept passing it up until I found it on super sale a month or so ago. It’s one of those fast fashion pieces that is surprisingly well made for the price. The whole garment is beaded, which usually isn’t a cheap or easy thing for manufacturers to do (later versions I saw in store were more sporadically beaded than this one). I also appreciated the mix of gold, silver, and olive color beads, which makes it work with a variety of hardware metals, and keeps is surprisingly neutral. It allows me to indulge in my love of vests in a more relaxed and slightly boho way for summer.
Because the vest is so busy, I kept everything else simple. A drapey black t-shirt, black accessories, and gold jewelry are a simple base for a decorative top layer.
On another note…I’m loving the American Apparel Track T as the perfect soft, drapey t-shirt. It’s the perfect length, width, neckline, and amount of soft drape. I bought the Track T in grey and went back for the black because I loved it so much. I only wish it came in white!

Lovely look! This reinforces my recent obsession with sequin clothing! I’ve been looking for a sequin skirt or top, but this vest is absolutely stunning! Love how you’ve dressed it down with a tee and jeans! :)
Bold Subtlety
Good point about the variety of metals. It is such a pretty piece. I have a tee similar to yours that I picked up at Michael Stars. So far I have only worn it as a quick solution for running errands or just hanging around with family…will have to consider ways to dress it up.
well now i feel like i need a vest in my life.
What a fabulous vest, love that you kept everything else simple.
Beautiful look, Kelly!! I love the fun vest and I’ll need to look into those American Apparel tees.
