Just a casual weekend outfit made dressy with the help of patent leather penny loafers. These are a little more interesting in that they are pointy toe, which I was a little afraid of in a thrilling kind of way. Pointy flats are one thing, but pointy penny loafers? In patent leather? Crazy, right? What can I say…I like living on the edge.

Such a cute shoes!
You are living on the edge! Is that the bag you bought in NYC?
Hi Lisa! Yup, I picked it up in NYC.
I really like the colourblocking you’re doing in this outfit! With the shirt and then mirrored in the bag and again with the bare ankles and the loafers– the shoes are cute but the outfit is fab!
Love the comfy loafers! Loafers so you can loaf-around ;-) that was an old joke during college days :)
We had a loafing joke in college too! My roommate would make cake from the box in a big pan and would call if cake-loaf…which turned into just loaf…and then we would loaf-around while eating loaf…there was a lot of loafing going on. =)
Pointer penny loafer? That is crazy beautiful. I <3 that hangbag.
Cute bag
Damn, girl, you’re getting crazy!! Next thing we know, you’ll be wearing — gasp!! — shoes that aren’t navy or black!! (I still would like to see you get more out of your comfort zone!!)
This is me. This is how I dress. Sorry to disappoint.
Hi!
Just found your lovely blog, and while I think your outfit choices are great, I wanted to congratulate you on maintaining your beautiful curly hair so well.
So many people seem to feel the need to straighten and rid themselves of their curly locks ( I’m guilty too); its nice to see someone in blogland looking so gorgeous.
Now that I have a little grandaughter with curls ( no, make that ringlets!), I’m trying to be more positive about my curls, so that she grows up loving hers.
Do you mind if I ask what product you use? I read back through your posts, and notice you said you used mousse?
Keep up the good work!
Thank you! My favorite products to use are Joicoi Joiwhip and Ouidad Styling Mist. Joiwhip is a light but moisturizing mousse that works well for my fine hair, and after blowdrying with a diffuser, I spray with the Styling Mist to keep my hair from frizzing. I’ve also been getting special “curly haircuts” from salons that specialize in curly hair. My favorite so far has been Devachan. The only drawback is if you want to straighten your hair, the haircut doesn’t look very good. I hope that helps and I hope your granddaughter will grow to love her curly hair! =)
Thanks for such a prompt reply! Will look for those items.
Those shoes look really good. And they’re not expensive. I’ve got sweaty feet, though, and am scared of the patent leather…
I love this casual outfit. The shoes are gorgeous!

Pointy-toed loafers are not for me, but you pull them off looking effortlessly chic. I adore the blouse!
