I have Stella from Project Runway in my head saying, “I love leh-tha”.
The first time I saw this skirt, it was in bright turquoise and I absolutely loved the idea of such a tough fabric in such an unexpected and flirty silhouette. The color wasn’t right for me, so I passed, but it stayed on my mind. Then a few months later, it popped up in black. Perfect!
Leather can be expensive to alter, and it can be difficult to find a tailor who will work with it, so a leather skirt that fits right off the rack is a spectacular find. I can’t wait to wear it with silk blouses and into fall with layered sweaters.
This metal collar necklace seemed like a natural pairing with the leather skirt. Both items are tough in material, but sweet in design.
Outfit details – Old Navy sweater (similar) :: Alice + Olivia skirt (and here) (similar & faux option) :: Ann Taylor belt :: Jimmy Choo shoes :: Chanel handbag :: BCBGMAXAZRIA necklace (similar) :: Kate Spade watch (customized) :: Daisy Knights ring :: Banana Republic rings :: Essie “Ole Caliente” nail color
You look fabulous… I love the skirt!
A leather skirt with pleats is so unexpected, I love it!
Work it girl! The skirt is the perfect length for just the right amount of flirt. If it was any shorter it might look to hoochie just bc it’s leather:P Great find!
This skirt…gasp…took my breath away. The length is perfect on you. I can’t wait for it to make another appearance on your blog!
I am completely in love with your outfit, Kelly. The skirt looks scandalous online but it is very proportional to your height. I don’t own any leather pieces because I am clueless when it comes to taking care for them. This is hands down my favorite outfit of yours =)
I love it when things fit perfectly off the rack! You look terrific and I love the way you paired the necklace with the skirt! Great find!
love this! it fits you perfectly! want this skirt for fall!! xo
Gorgeous!! Love the skirt and I think the turquoise would have looked good too. But who can beat black :-)
I love anything leather. This skirt is so perfect! A little pricey for me, but I already have a faux one lying around waiting to be worn. I love your pairing with the stripes! Can’t wait to see more of this skirt. : )
I love this look! The skirt is fabulous.
super jealous! i just love this skirt so much.
Dearest Kelly,
For this DARLING skirt, your heihgt is PERFECT! As much as I love it but with my long legs it would not look the same. Enjoy it and as for me, the faux option will not do. There is something about the soft drape of leather.
Love you burgundy Chanel tote. These were the best they ever made. I will never part with mine… ever.
Hugs to you,
Mariette’s Back to Basics
Great description of the skirt and necklace…”tough in material but sweet in design” :)
Agreeing with Elle…awaiting its next appearance!
I heart the “characters” on PR almost as much as the fashion itself. This leather – ahem, leh-tha – skirt looks beautiful with the stripes and collar. Ditto on what Elle and Michelle said – encore, please!
I loved your description as well as the execution. These really are wonderful sweet pieces but with edge because of the materials. I love me some project runway as well.
Your
description of the skirt and necklace ” tough in material and sweet in design” says it best. You look fabulous! I’m love seeing in skirt.
You forgot about the peep toes! also tough in material but girly in design. I’ve been seeing a lot of leather pencil skirts, but not that many a-line skirts which I love. Thanks for featuring this!

Love this skirt! What size is it? I want to order one (we are almost the same size). :)
Thanks Janette! It’s a size 0. They’ve been getting snatched up quick so I hope you can find it!
I love that skirt! I have a leather skirt too! I can’t wait to wear it for the fall :D
