I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July (and Canada Day for Canadian readers)! With the holiday resting smack dab on a Wednesday this year, I took a bit of a week-long vacation from pretty much everything. This blouse did not get a vacation, as I wore it non-stop all week.
Being a popover, this blouse is meant to fit roomy (too fitted and you can’t easily take it off), but it was a little too roomy for my taste. Luckily it had many more features that I loved and deemed worth altering. Jacquard and navy blue dots mix to make an interesting take on polka-dots, cuffed sleeves make it great for layering under blazers and sweaters, and a stand point collar is my favorite type of collar. Here’s what I had done:

Outfit Details – J.Crew shirt :: Banana Republic Factory shorts (similar) :: Ann Taylor belt :: Chanel handbag :: Manolo Blahnik shoes :: J.Crew necklace ( similar here) :: Kate Spade watch (customized) :: Stella & Dot bracelet (c/0) (in silver) :: Essie “Turquoise and Caicos” nail color

I love the shoes, such a pretty color on you. Great alteration job on the shirt; looks just right!
Girl you look tall!!! Love the easy but chic top! So the summer tweed referred to the shorts? I’m still learning fashion vocabulary ;)
YOUR SHOES! I’ve always loved cobalt blue Manolos.
I have a romper that has been recently handed down. Its quite loose but I would hate to get rid of it. Any tips on how to make it slimmer? It has sewn in pockets on the shorts
Hi Jo. I can’t say without seeing the piece, but any seam on the romper is an opportunity for a tailor to take it in. Your best bet is just to take it to a tailor and get a quote. Good luck!
