These Gap loafers have hardly left my feet since they arrived a few days ago. The combination of smoking slipper design, quirky print, and calf hair material had me from the second I put them on.
Gap has some really great loafers at the moment. The polka dot style is my favorite, and as of right now, the only pair I’m planning on keeping from the ones I ordered to try on (although I also really like the velvet). I ordered my usual size (5) and found them all to fit spot on.
Clockwise from top left: Calf hair in polka dot, Embroidered in Elysian Blue, Suede in black, Tassel in Ornament and Navy
Outfit Details – Esprit blazer (shoulders altered) (similar from Gap) :: J.Crew shirt (altered) :: 7 for all Mankind jeans :: Ann Taylor belt :: Gap shoes :: J.Crew handbag :: Iridesse brooch :: Kate Spade watch (customized) :: Stella & Dot bracelet (c/o) (in silver) :: Daisy Knights ring (similar from ASOS) :: Loud Love Jewelry rings (c/o) :: Essie Turquoise and Caicos nail color
Somehow I managed to miss the fact that Gap stocks size 5 shoes online! I’ve been coveting polka dot shoes for fall. How does calf hair hold up, in your experience?
Hi Keilexandra! Calf hair is a little more delicate than regular leather because the material can go bald from friction (so, if you tend to rub or scuff a part of your shoes consistently, it can rub the little hairs off and grow a bald spot). Also, with a lot of wear and rubbing/friction, the little hairs can start standing up or getting pushed around so they don’t lay as nice and flat as they did when the item was new. When I wear calf hair, I’m just a little more aware of where I’m swinging my feet.
the loafers are lovely!!!
love those loafers! they look so comfy…cute outfit!

They look so comfortable!!
I’ve been eying the loafers up too…they look so cute!
I was eyeing those polka dot loafers after you tweeted them but I’m not too keen on calf hair. I have a feeling I may end up destroying them within 5 mins of wearing them. They do look great on you and I think they would look great with the outfit you wore last Thursday.
Good idea! I think they’d look good with my outfit from last Thursday too. =)
Love the opposing polka dots and love the yellow loafers too!
the loafers are adorable. what’s with us all and polka dots?!? this trend is so fun. i’ll check those out on thursday when i finally get to head in store (new jcrew arrivals, too!)
OMG, don’t get me started on the J.Crew new arrivals. My cart is full of nothing but polka dots. =P
I can only wish I was tall enough to wear flats,!
Don’t let height stop you! I’m only 4’11”. =)
Love the outfit Kelly! Personally, I really like calf hair on leather. It’s one of my favorite textures on shoes and bags =)
Those smoking loafers are absolutely adorable!
Thanks for sharing! I’ve been looking for some loafers and I hadn’t noticed GAP loafers. Those look absolutely fun and whimsical! Everyone’s been having dots on their radar lately, haha, love it!
Love those shoes! You know I’m a fan of the smoking slippers. I can’t believe Gap has size 5. Can’t wait to buy a pair.
oh i love those flats! they are so awesome and so cute!
I like your total outfit- really chic but with fun polka-dot! Such a cute flat!
Mega cute. Do you have any tips on maintaining pony hair? I have a pair of leopard print heels I love, but I’m paranoid about bald spots.
