Bird by Juicy Couture jacket, size P
And all it does is give me shoulders like a line-backer.
Another example of great in theory, but not in practice. This jacket looked amazing online when I added it my lust list, which prompted me to give a try “in the name of research”. But when it got here, I was immediately turned off by the big puff shoulder, and it only zips up about 1/3 of the way! Weird!
It got a big ol’ “meh” from me, and when the boyfriend came home to find it hanging on a clothing rack, he exclaimed, “that jacket is offensive!”. Not quite the reaction I was expecting, but…touche.
I know it isn’t groundbreaking news, but a few of you were interested, so there ya-go!
Back it goes, and good thing too. This thing is expensive!
Shame. It looks like it had so much potential! A few tweaks here and there, and it would be fantastic! At least you can use the return money for something more fabulous ;)
I’m not crazy about the jacket in general, but as to making you look like a line-backer, I don’t think it does at all. In fact, I think it balances you out, at least in that particular photo (it could just be the angle). Some women are afraid of a good strong (not necessarily broad/wide) shoulder, but it’s actually very sexy.
I agree with Cher, I don’t know if it is just the angle but the shoulders look nice and strong in a good way to me. But, then again, I have broad shoulders so I’m used to seeing them wide-haha, so I MUST stay away from sleeve puff.
Anyway, like I think I mentioned to you before, I saw a similar jacket at Zara recently, so if you’re still interested in the tweed with leather look I’d try there.
But good thing you tried it out despite price so that now you know you are not missing out on anything. :)
it doesn’t look bad at all.
Too bad. It would’ve been great if it was offered a size or two smaller, but as it is it seems just a bit too big all over.
Oh no! What we do for “research” eh? I’m sorry the jacket didn’t work out =( The hunt continues!
I like it! After seeing the fit on you, I would buy this, if I found it discounted. Hmm…deeply discounted.
It’s not so bad, really, just a little too big for you. But my boyfriend’s brutal sartorial honesty has also seen me banish a few iffy outfits to the recessed of my closet.

hmmm, good choice. it reminds me of the 80’s. was it the 80’s? ok, the 70’s? i dunno, whenever they had the big shoulder thing going on. oh well. more money for something else!!
I can see why you initially liked it when you saw it online…that leather is so much fun! And it looks so cropped and cute on the model! Bummer!
LOL Kelly, I don’t think the jacket looks that bad on you! Definitely does not make you look like a linebacker. I like the details of it but the fit isn’t making me giddy or anything, but if you DID want to keep it I could see you rocking it for sure!
I love the jacket! This particular one can add a lot of character to an outfit. Too bad about the fit. Holy crap! I never thought it would cost that much.
Actually, it doesn’t look bad in picture, it look quite good on. Of course, it’s just a photo. You look really nice
I think this jacket is not so bad on you and the shoulder has just the right cut. But I agree that if you are not satisfied, it’s no use to keep it in the wardrobe.

Hahaha… damn it! Much nicer in the photo, I agree. The next time you are looking for something with more edge definitely try something from Mackage. They run small and they are well-built!
ohh the sequin jacket is BEAUTIFUL! love how it sparkles!
Oh sorry it didn’t work out. Many clothes are trial and error. It just how it works. Some look fabulous online but when you try it on, it’s horrendous.
I have an Ann Taylor Loft Tweed jacket from the spring 2011 collection. I regret it, should have return but didn’t. Now I’m stuck with it.
Your BF’s reaction is soooo funny. I agree. Return!
still have it? looking to sell it?
Sorry, already returned it. It was bought at Shopbop, so they might still have my return on hand.
