Petite vs. Food

TinyvsFood

The food won…

Went to Hash House a Go Go in the Hillcrest area of San Diego over the weekend, and we were NOT prepared for the giant portions carted out. Luckily our waiter warned us, and the boyfriend and I were smart enough to share. Regardless, the whole table burst into laughter when this monstrosity was set down in front of me.

Tiny person + over-sized anything = funny

PS…Congrats to Esther & Ying, the lucky ladies who won the mini bangle bracelet giveaway. I was happy to learn Ying lives right here in San Diego, and was nice enough to meet up with me! Enjoy your bracelets ladies!

@PetiteAsianGirl – LOL. It's called "Sage fried chicken linguine" There's actually a whole fried chicken in there somewhere, and they top off every dish by plunging a giant rosemary tree into the top. Between me and the boyfriend, we got through about half of it.

@Really Petite – It was very delish! Just HUGE! Everyone at the table had a good laugh over it. ;)

HA! Nice… that looks pretty good. Glad you guys shared!

Out there somewhere is a picture of me with two GIANT meatballs. The way the shot was taken, they looked like boobs! …sad thing was that the meatballs were a big enhancement from the real things :(

Wow that is one huge bowl of food. Thank you for the bracelets. I love them and will most likely wear them everyday. It was a pleasure to meet you! BTW your outfit that day was chic.

@Erin – Um…where is this photo and when do we get to see it? ;)

There is a whole photo series of me from college where I am standing near gigantic boys we knew/met. Hmm…I wonder if I have all of them…lol.

@ShortBlonde – LOL. Heaps of Easter feast is never a bad thing. ;)

@kileen – LOL…maybe they were. Compared to size of that bowl, you'd think they'd be smaller, right? I guess I was too distracted by the gigantic bowl.

    @shystardreamer – Aw…thanks! ;)

I'm so glad they fit! Thank you for meeting with me! It was really fun!

Oh, Hash House how I love thee! Their French Toast is unreasonably huge… everything could be shared.

Hash House's portions ARE huge. And there's always the branch, er, "sprig" of rosemary to contend with too. =) Looks super yummy though.

Love Hash House and wish I lived in San Diego just so I could have breakfast there weekly. I dream about their homemade jam and horse hoof sized biscuits. My cousin is moving back here to Texas in the fall so I am about to lose my excuse to visit! My husband and I almost always split a meal because meals are usually too large for even a non-petite. Hash House was no exception and I think we still walked away with leftovers.

I used to live in San Diego and loved going to Hash House a Go Go. I just had to make sure to wake up EARLY to avoid the wait time. I learned over time that you have to share portions cause there's no way you can finish it. I know they've also branched out and also have a location in Las Vegas.

If you have time go to Hodad's. It's great for burgers. I'm not sure if they have one that just opened in the Gaslamp District. But there's a location in OB (Ocean Beach).

Haha…what's even funnier is 4'10" me could have probably eaten that whole thing. I love places that serve LOTS of food.

    Looks yummy =9

this is a good post. Man, seems like a lot of ppl headed to hash house this weekend. I like it ok…breakfast food isn't my thing. I haven't seen this on the menu. but one thing i'll tell you about HH. No regular eggs benedict. they have other concoctions of eggs benedict, but not the normal one served w/hollandaise sauce. in fact, there is no hollandaise sauce in the restaurant. shame. tis a shame!!!

I thought the bowl was closer to the camera than you were so it looked artificially large. But now that I've read your blog…LOL! Your meal looks sooo yummy – must try the place when I vacation there.
