Petite Weekend Guide: 7/23/10

Shop:

Ann Taylor: Some new arrivals are popping up, and free shipping on everything until Saturday, 7/24/10. I picked up this pair of “perfect pumps” in size 5, and used code JULYSALE35 for 35% off with my Ann Taylor/LOFT card (30% off if no card is used).

Banana Republic: Did you know BR has begun shipping internationally? And Canadian online shopping is slated to open in August (according to their website)!

25% off $75 or more with code BRSAVE25, and free shipping on $50 or more with code BRFREE50.

LOFT: Sale in progress, and free shipping on $125 or more. In the sale are the jacquard skirts from this post, and this chain rosette top that I found in store and runs really small. Also on sale is the lace skirt that I think is pretty, but can’t find in petites, or even a regular 00. *Sigh*

I just picked up a few new arrivals…the ruffle cardigan, the metallic slub skirt, and the silk tiered skirt, and used code 198000999 for 20% off.

Nordstrom: The Anniversary sale is still in full swing! PetiteAsianGirl pointed out a really cute petite Burberry trench (I like the plum). It would probably still need some alterations (see this post), but is a great deal.

Attn. San Francisan’s, Los Angelinos, and New Yorkers: The Barney’s Warehouse Sale is coming to town again! You have to dig for petite friendly items, but one year I walked away with an armful of Diane von Fursternberg wrap tops! Yes, it can be done. BWS official site.

San Francisco: July 29 – August 8, Fort Mason Center Herbst Pavilion
Los Angeles: August 5 – August 15, LA Convention Center, South Hall K
New York: August 19 – September 6, 255 W. 17th Street (back entrance of Chelsea Barney’s Co-op)

DVF tops?? Oooh I never go to warehouse/sample sales, but I might have to go to this one! I've always wanted a DVF piece!

Yay for BR shipping to Canada! Hopefully the shipping costs won't be too unreasonable. I've been tempted to purchase something from the Nordstrom sale too as I found out they ship to my area.

Sophia – I always see lots of DVF at the LA warehouse sale. The tricky part is finding your size b/c they're spread out all over the place. If you like digging for treasures, then check it out!

curls-and-pearls – It's about time BR starting shipping to Canada! Let's hope AT and LOFT follow suit.

elleandish – Good luck! I didn't find anything at the last sale, but I got some DVF stuff the sale before that. It can be hit or miss.

To anyone going to the Barneys warehouse sale – even if you don't find anything for yourself…be sure to check out the luxury designer racks! At the very least, it's fun to see all the crazy designer garments that no one ever wears. That's my favorite part. =)

I hemmed and hawed and finally got the Burberry trench too in black, size 2P. I know it's going to need alterations but hopefully because it's a different material than the one you tried, maybe it won't be as big? Do you happen to know approximately how much they charge at the Burb store for alterations if the coat wasn't purchased there?

PetiteXXS – I hope it'll be slim! I've only bought Burberry trenches at the boutique, but when I brought them in for tailoring, the boutique never asked me for a receipt. Maybe you'll get away with it. =)

Hi–If any of you are near a French Connection, check out the the Daisy Chain skirt (marked down from $98 to $47): http://usa.frenchconnection.com/product/woman+Collections+sale+skirts/73AX3/daisy+chain+skirt.htm

This runs REALLY SMALL. I'm 95lbs, 5ft tall w/ 24 1/2" waist, 35" lower hip. My thighs are full for someone of my weight, and the size 0, 2, and 4 were all too small for me! I actually ended up buying a 6. This skirt w/ its high waist and ruching really emphasizes waist and hip curves.
