Store that Only Carries Shoes in Small Sizes: Giordano’s

*Update* Giordano’s has closed. Read about it in my follow up post (here).

Oh, you New York girls have it good! Tiny shoe size? No problem…just skip on down to Giordano’s to peruse the collection of shoes in size 5.5 down to size 4! What a fantastic idea! The best part is this store stocks shoes from high end designers like Pucci and Christian Lacroix, middle range designers like Marc by Marc Jacobs and Stuart Weizman, and their own store brand which is priced in the $100-$200 range. Fabulous!

Being a small shoe size is so frustrating because stores never carry them, or if they do, they only have one or two pairs in stock that inevitably sell out the second they hit the sales floor. Or we get stuck with the display shoe (because small shoes are “cuter” so the smallest size in stock is usually on display) which has been manhandled by every shoe frenzied woman (or man if you’re into that kind of thing) in the store.

And that’s if you’re lucky enough to be a size 5! If you’re a size 4.5 or below, you’d better hope designers even MAKE shoes that small…geez. That is what makes shopping at a store that sells only small sizes so amazing…being able to walk into a store and know they have your size is a great feeling. Giordano’s takes online and phone orders, and they ship anywhere in the US, Europe, South America, and Asia (What? No Canada?) so if you’re not in NY but need a tiny shoe fix, then drop them a line. The store will definitely be on my list of places to visit when I finally make it to NY!

Cute shoes! I’m afraid my feet are a bit big, I’m blessed with size 6 feet so finding shoes isn’t quite as difficult as finding clothes.

Hi Jackie! You’re lucky to be a size 6! Its’ amazing how many stores and e-tailers don’t stock smaller than a size 6, even in brands that make shoes that small. You can shop anywhere!

I went through a short phase where I had convinced myself that I fit in a size 6 shoe (probably because it was all I could find at the time). The day it hit home to me that perhaps I was not a size 6 was when my cute size 6.5 high heel pump flew across the room during a tour on a job interview. Sometime between chasing my rogue pump across the room and kicking it out from under the desk it had landed under, I decided to determine my REAL shoe size. I now comfortably wear a size 5, and there have been no flying shoe incidents since.

I always had the impression that US5 was easy to get hold of in the US as I see it on so many websites, but in Europe there is hardly anywhere!

    Thanks for the tip.

I’m convinced that I’m a 4.5 in some styles within the same brand! It’s too bad shoes don’t come in quarter sizes, because I’m probably a 4 3/4!

    Hi Cynthia!

That’s why heel liners are so awesome! If a shoe is just a tad too big…stuff a heel liner in there and it’ll usually do the trick.

I’m more like a 4.5 myself. I swear I used to be a 5.5 when I was in high school (I’m in my early 30s now, so I’m probably older than most of you guys, but that gives me some perspective on vanity sizing over the years). But now, not even a 5 fits!

BTW, so glad I found this blog! Pretty informative as I’m also very petite (4’10, narrow frame, and anywhere from 80-85 pounds, depending on how often I eat deserts and pizza).
