J.Crew petite sizes are only available online, so I hadn’t had an opportunity to try anything out to see how their sizing runs. Curiosity finally got the better of me and I decided to order a few items of petite suiting in size 0. I ordered a pair of city-fit petite pants in size 0 that indicated they had “stretch”, in the hopes that meant they would fit smaller. The city-fit is the pant with the lowest rise available at J.Crew…

I thought I had already tried the Blythe blouse during the J.Crew holiday sale, but apparently that was the “Lucinda”, and I got my J.Crew mixed up. I picked up the Lucinda in “rust” (one of my all time favorite colors) after seeing it look fabulous on Chloe, but on me it looked more like a rust colored, pleated potato sack, so I didn’t even bother taking photos for the blog. A few weeks ago, I got a hot tip from W…

J.Crew Cafe Capri in Port Wine & Minnie Pant in Warm Redwood One of my favorite trends this year, along with smoking slippers, are all the pretty colored pants all over the place! Ann Taylor Luxe Chambray Blouse, size 00P | J.Crew Wool Bell Skirt, size 00 | J.Crew Edie Purse in “Pecan” | Cole Haan “Eve” Shoes, size 5 | Amrita Singh Nello necklace in “Coral” | Vintage belt If only I had this outfit for the 4th of July…but I did not, and my streak of being a poor summer dresser continued because I just wasn’t happy with my outfit. But one good thing did come out of it…

The first victim of my cruelty…this J.Crew cashmere cardigan: How I shrank it: Wash: Cold water on delicate cycle Dry: Medium heat, checking periodically Success! This cardigan shrank up nicely around the torso for a slimmer fit, shrank a l…

Left: sweater without shrinking Right: different sweater after shrinking J.Crew doesn’t usually fit me well, but I’ve been okay with buying their sweaters (especially simple, non-embellished ones) because in the back of my mind, I’m thinking, “oh yeah, that’ll shrink”. I picked up a few of the Honeycomb sweaters on sale, and have been wearing them as is for a little while now, but it was only a matter of time…

J.Crew Schoolboy Blazer in Wool Flannel, size 00P That’s one good looking blazer! Just kidding! Blazers have proven to be a dynamic part of my wardrobe, so my current mission is to build my blazer options. I have the basic black and white, dressy tweed, and even summer-weight seersucker, but I’m on the hunt for more interesting colors, and my favorite neutral of all…grey. Because I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of thes…
