Sneak Peek – Ann Taylor LOFT Fall 2010

Ann Taylor LOFT had a preview for their Fall 2010 collection at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood last week, so you can image how excited I was when they extended an invite to little ol’ me. And then how terrified I was at the thought of attending my first ever “fashion event”.

The geek that I am, I dressed in my favorite Ann Taylor LOFT outfit, brought my gigantic DSLR camera, little point-and-shoot, and tried my best to pretend like I wasn’t completely lost or clueless. While waiting in the valet line at the Chateau Marmont, I watched all these well dressed young women step out of cars…with no gigantic cameras in sight. So, again, I’m a geek, and chickened out at the last minute about bringing my nice DSLR camera inside. Poor decision! There were so many great photo ops inside that I was kicking myself for not bringing it.

Luckily, my little point-and-shoot still took some nice photos of the tweed heavy (yay!) upcoming Fall collection:

I have no idea how I missed this tweed lovely (it has my name written all over it…). Luckily Racked LA took a photo:

Fall is my all time favorite fashion season, so I was really excited to get a little sneak peak at what’s coming. I will of course have to try the tweed skirts, and even though I’ve had bad luck with LOFT jackets in the past, I’m sure I’ll try those tweed jackets as well (I just can’t help myself!). I’ll be passing on the furry vest though. =P
I also got inside info from LOFT that they are expanding their petite selections, and that the Fall collection will have more petite options than ever before! Yippee!

Also, a big “thank you” to the lovely TV Guide ladies who chatted me up and let me hang out, so I didn’t look like a total loser in the corner all by myself. =)

Oh yeah, almost forgot…goodie bag!!!

    Your first fashion show experience seemed fun! I guess horizontal stripes will be a trend this fall (not sure I like stripes that much thought). Good to know they are going to offer more petite options..I haven't shopped at LOFT in years!

    Wow this is great! I would've been so nervous going to such a "fashion event"… I probably wouldn't have known what to wear! Thanks for posting about your experience so we can live vicariously through you :)

    I love all the tweed too, especially the skirt. I really wanted to get the tweed skirt BR had a while back but they were out in my size. The jackets are probably going to be too big but I can definitely see how that last one has your name written all over it!

    I like the tweed but otherwise most of the clothes don't look business like enough for my needs- Noticed that trend across the typical petite friendly chains this summer and hoped it was just a summer thing- maybe they are all moving towards more casual stuff. If so bummer for ladies who have to dress up for work appropriately, daily.

    Anonymous – Very true, there were only casual clothes modeled there that night. It's only a portion of the full Fall collection, so hopefully there will be some nice suiting too. Fall suiting is always the best anyways. =)
