If you have an Armani Exchange near you…you must try on this dress!
First of all, it’s full silk with a bunch of great details. It has a fully lined skirt, which is great because I have bought way more expensive silk dresses that have not been lined at all. I thought this was a very nice detail. Also, it has two side pockets, and a little sleeve roll detail.
Second, it’s a wrap dress, which is perfect for petite women who have a hard time finding clothing small enough, because you simply wrap it around you as tightly as you need! Perfect!
Third, this dress comes in the super tiny size p0. Please note that p0 is even smaller than the A/X size 0! Make sure it has a “p” in front of it.
And lastly…it’s on sale for $40 marked down from a full retail price of $130!
Here it is in size p0 on me:
Dress: Armani Exchange Chevron Dress, size p0
Shoes: Jimmy Choo, size 35
I love the colors and the print, and for that price, you can’t go wrong. The only gripe I have with it is the way the sleeves are constructed makes reaching up a little difficult. If I’m going to reach for something up high, I have to push the sleeves up to my shoulder to allow full arm movement. I’ll just make sure to wear this dress in situations where I won’t be doing much strenuous activity. =)
Also, make sure you really tighten this dress when you wrap it. The first time I tried it on, I thought the top was too big. But I played with it a little, made sure to tighten it all the way, and then pull the waist down because it was bunching. Once I fixed it, it was perfect!
Like any wrap dress, making sure the front stays closed so you don’t flash anyone with your bra is always an issue. This can be remedied by either wearing a camisole under the dress for modesty, securing the sides down firmly with fashion tape (double sided tape that every stylist and Hollywood starlet uses on a regular basis…invest in some! I have a small box in my purse at all times.), or having a tailor sew a small button and button loop on the inside to make sure it stays closed. This dress actually has a small button and button loop already inside, but it is located too low to do much good for me. Maybe I’ll have my tailor move it up.
This dress is no longer available online, but my local Armani Exchange still had a bunch in stock, so I’m sure your local A/X sales associate would be able to locate one for you. At $40, it’s a fantastic deal! For a close-up of the tag with all the info you’ll need to track it down, click here.
While I was in A/X, I also tried on this dress in size p0 which also runs small, is on sale, and available in size p0 online. I was about to take dressing room photos…but wouldn’t ya know it, my little red camera’s battery died.
Other dresses on sale and still available in size p0 are this lace dress, this asymetrical pleat dress, this origami pleat dress, and this print dress that I bet would look really cute belted. Don’t forget A/X has free shipping on orders of $150 or more, and free in store returns.
